03 Sep CHEP gives us a certificate of sustainability
We recently received from the CHEP company the sustainability certificate for its contribution to the protection of the environment and the promotion of a sustainable logistic model.
This certificate confirms FERNÁNDEZ’s commitment to sustainability, since the CHEP Pooling system is based on the fact that all pallets are repaired, reused and shared in a sustainable manner, which helps reduce CO2 emissions and save on natural resources.
All the wood used comes from forests that are certified as sustainable. The quality of the pallets of CHEP is so high that its durability can be up to 10 times more than the equivalents in white, in addition 100% of the pallets are recycled at the end of their useful life, so nothing is wasted.
This system proposes a saving of costs and the optimization of the logistical processes at the same time that contributes to the reduction of the CO2 emissions, the use of natural resources and the production of waste.
The efficiency of its transport network means that fewer emissions are produced, since the distances are shorter.
With this agreement, FERNÁNDEZ has managed to reduce its CO2 emissions by 56%, as well as reducing wood by 72% and waste by 77%.
